Synthetic Grass Is Taking OVer
An increasing number of Australians are installing synthetic grass to replace their grass lawns. Over the last few years there have been an increasing number of water restrictions in the cities and towns around Australia. Anyone who wanted to have a lawn that looked ermotely green were out of luck.
The answer is to replace the lawn – you’re not allowed to water it anyway – and put in synthetic grass.
There is still an argument that synthetic grass can reduce the duality of underlying soil, is not yet recyclable and is resource intense to produce. The argument also points to the fact that grass lawns act as carbon sinks. In other words they absorb carbon dioxide.
In the meantime it comes down to what people want to see when they look out their windows. Do they want to see a dustbowl shifting from their frontyard to the next door neighbour’s or do they want something that resembles a lush green lawn.
