I was able to get out for a dinner the other night and it was being held at a place that was new for me. It was a pub called The Clare Castle in Carlton and it was quite a surprising experience. When you think of pub dining in Carlton you don’t really expect anything terribly fancy and you certainly don’t expect to feel the need to rave about it, but that’s what I’m going to do in a sort of restrained and respectable way.

The Clare Castle is a very relaxed place that is clean with a rather sophisticated atmosphere. It is the sort of place that you feel instantly comfortable and ready to settle in for a meal with friends or relatives. You certainly don’t feel as if you are enclosed or stifled at all and this, I reckon, is very important.

I think we all expect to find good Italian food in Carlton but perhaps you would expect that dining to take place in an actual Italian restaurant rather than a pub bistro. Well the food at The Clare Castle was quite exceptional. I had the Veal Scallopini which was to die for. The beet and cabbage slaw on the side was the perfect accompaniment to the veal and the serving was generous.

After our meal I decided to take a bit of a walk around the pub to get a better feel for the place and was surprised by just how spacious it was. The place looks as though it can be easily converted into an exceptional venue for small to medium sized parties without any trouble at all.

This is certainly a place to seriously consider if you are planning some sort of party such as a 21st or a small wedding reception. Certainly the food would be a hit with the guests and the atmosphere has the right blend of casual and intimate to make it a memorable night or day.

Bike saddles come in a variety of sizes and styles and the one you want can be dependant on your size and exactly how serious you are when you are cycling. We will consider the distinctions between saddle designs and try to describe specific factors for them. Quite a few seats have already been produced throughout the years for functional and also health factors. There’s essentially three varieties: cruiser, racing and comfort.

Racing seats are designed to make it easy for full movement which will help prevent chafing. These kinds of seats prompt you to move forward which helps you put more weight on the hands and feet and less on your seat. Road seats are narrower, stronger and light whilst mountain bike seats will also be thin but with a bit of cushioning. Recent racing seats were developed over the years to protect the reproductive organs. No-nose saddles are said to improve erectile function and cutaway/soft centre saddles lower pressure coming from the soft body tissues linked to reproduction. An example of a quality road saddle is the Specialized Toupe Pro saddle.

Comfort seats will be broader and have more substantial amounts of padding yet are made to allow for easy pedaling. Comfort seats may be appropriate for long-distance touring and are commonly designed to soak up most of the vibrations and shock produced by bad rural roads. Saddles produced for females would possibly be added to this specific group because they also have a broader seat to fit a woman’s shape, a stubbier tip along with centre channel. An example of a comfort saddle from a leading manufacturer is the Brooks B17 Standard saddle.

The Cruiser saddles give a great deal of padding and possess cushioning on both edges. The upright style with the handle bars on cruiser saddles means a lot of a person’s weight is entirely on the saddle. Since “cruising” is what you’re engaging in, you don’t need to pedal rapidly so you can employ a broad, cushioned saddle to allow for your weight. Banana saddles with their particularly long sized and well-padded cover are often used on cruisers plus children’s bicycles.

It’s important to begin using style-specific seat since they are not made for all kinds of cycling. A saddle for quick races is going to be torment during long distance events. On the other hand broader bicycle seats generate too much interference the quicker you try to ride. Make sure that you think about what sort of riding you will be carrying out when you invest in a seat.

Essentially competitive riders should have a skinny racing seat that could shift you forwards and place the weight to the feet and hands, hence reducing the majority of the weight on your seat. Large saddles generate an excessive amount of rubbing or chafing on legs pedalling with a higher cadence. Amateur riders on comfort or cruiser bicycles try to sit more upright with most of their weight on the saddle. That is why they are usually better suited to wide, cushioned seats having good quality cushioning and support.

There are a couple of different types of broadheads that are suitable for use by bow hunters to ensure a quick and easy kill, fixed blade and mechanical broadheads. The number of manufacturers producing these broadheads has increased significantly over the recent years and it is possible to find subtle variations on the two types over a range of sizes, weights and prices.

One of the keys to a good broadhead is the sharpness of the blades and how cleanly they slice the flesh. A straight, clean cut is going to bleed far more than a ragged cut and this will provide you with the strong blood trail that is sometime crucial to tracking your game.

Out of the many different types of mechanical broadheads that are available on the market there appears to be a lot of credit given to the Grim Reaper broadheads. The acclaim seems to be almost universal, if you want to use a mechanical broadhead that is going to get significant penetration and will produce a solid blood trail, try the Grim Reapers.

All of that talk sort of makes the decision process a little easier and then it is simply a case of working out whether to get a 100 grain or 125 grain broadhead.

The use of lighted arrow nocks is an idea that has been gradually gaining more acceptance by hunters everywhere. The idea is that the rear end of the arrow is fitted with a little led light that increases the visibility of the arrow as it is launched from the bow.

There are a few advantages to using an arrow that has a light attached, the most obvious is that it is easier to see the arrow while it is in flight. This means that the shooter can see exactly how their arrow flies through the air and the light trail that is left behind will trace the path of the arrow exactly. If adjustments need to be made it will quickly become obvious and this will help on subsequent shots.

The light will also provide a secondary advantage to the shooter and that is to prevent arrows from being lost. Should the target be missed for some reason, depending on the thickness of the foliage, it is very easy to lose your arrow. In some cases these arrows are quite expensive and the last thing you want to do is have to replace all of them each time you go out. The led light on the end of the arrow nock will increase the visibility of the arrow as it lies in the undergrowth ensuring that it can be recovered without too much searching.

Although these nocks tend to cost more than the traditional old plastic nocks they can be seen as providing good value for money, particularly if you bag more deer or retain all of your arrows each time you shoot.

There are many ways in which the use of solar power has to be improved and one of the biggies is getting it to the general populace in a way that they will 1) want to use it, and 2) for a price that they will find attractive. There are plenty of economic packages that have been introduced by various government bodies to assist in the cost. The problem is that for many people it still represents a cost t hat is too steep.

Here is an announcement made by Westville Solar in the UK in an effort to get solar power to a wider range of people:

“Following on from the introduction of the Solar PV ‘Feed In Tariff’ scheme, solar power advocates and experts Westville Solar have officially unveiled another new scheme aimed at widening the availability of cheap solar energy to all of the UK.

This new scheme provides free solar panels to households on a cost free ‘lease’ basis under which Westville will fit the panels for free and cover the maintenance costs for 25 years, before the panels officially become property of the home.

By now you’re probably thinking it sounds too good to be true, but the fact of the matter is, it is true, you can generate your own, free, environmentally friendly energy without having a single penny leave your bank account!

The installation and maintenance of the panels is paid for by the would be ‘Feed In Tariff’ payments going straight to Westville, meaning nothing leaves your pocket, and you’re free to benefit from your own energy, and some great savings!

So, its free, good for the environment, and can actually save you money! How many more reasons do you need? Solar is the way forward!”

This sounds as though it will be the type of incentive scheme that will get more people to want to put solar panels on their house.

There have been a few alarming instances where the books that I have been placing (all nice and brand new) into my bookcase have been getting damaged over the passage of time. The books are bent and skewed because I don’t have enough books to complete an entire row. It isn’t difficult to work out why it’s happening. Because the books aren’t standing straight up in vertical alignment they are getting permanently damaged.

What I have now is a set of books that lean casually to one side. I don’t think it is a problem that I am going to be able to fix with the books that have already become damaged.

It is a problem that I plan on fixing for future books. I have bought a set of wooden bookends and have placed them at either end of the row of books. The bookends look very stylish sitting there in the book case and the books now stand nice and straight. It also means that everything looks in better proportion because I was able to place the books in the centre of the shelf rather than making them huddle down at one end.

What I noticed while I was looking for my set of bookends was there is a tremendous range of bookends to choose from. Apart from the wooden ones, which really suits just about any décor, there are some very modern metal bookends and a lot of very solid looking bookends made from natural stone such as marble, granite and even agate. More antique styled bookends such as those made from bronze, iron and brass would have been perfect if my home was set up in a more traditional style.

What I can look forward to in the future is the continued quality of my collection of books and I won’t have to worry so much about whether they will become damaged just through the act of sitting still on the shelf.

It sounds as though decorating the kitchen with tiles is an easy job, particularly when you have just been through an entire kitchen renovation. The last thing that you think you will have to trouble yourself over is what tiles you should be using for the kitchen walls.

The thing is though, there are some big decisions to be made and they are going to have a huge bearing on the overall appearance of the room.

One option that is open to you is to install plain white tiles and allow the bench tops and cabinets to become the showpiece of the room. But this would be to ignore the portential that the tiles can bring into the room, particularly if you are after a feature that is going to stand out in the room.

An option that is going to create a big impression in the room is a tile feature that comprises Talavera tiles. There is a lot to like about colorful hand-painted tiles that can be joined together to form an impressive feature that will give the kitchen some added distinction and style.

No matter whether you are creating a backsplash or a decorative mural in the room, Talavera tiles are perfect for the job and with other Talavera pottery items placed strategically around the room you can make use of the rustic charm and beauty of this style in a variety of situations. No matter whether you have placemats, coffee mugs, jugs, bowls or plates made in the Talavera style you can always take inspiration from the tiles that have been installed in the kitchen to bring the entire design style together .

We all use plastic bags when we go shopping. No, wait, strike that. We all used to use plastic bags when we did the grocery shopping. That practice is beginning to change and although I use green reusable grocery bags I still put the fruit and vegetables into the small clear plastic bags. This means that the larger plastic bags that held the majority of my groceries are no longer being used, but plastic bags are still available.

This is about to change in the ACT of Australia. South Australia has already imposed a ban on plastic shopping bags and the ACT government has announced that a similar ban will be introduced in 2011.

In August 2011 a transition period will begin where plastic bags will begin to be phased out of grocery stores and takeaway shops. This gives residents a good 8 months to prepare and to get their green bags ready. Also, the stores themselves will be able to stock up on a biodegradable alternative type of bag that can be used in place of plastic.

With hundreds of thousands of plastic bags being used every year in Australia the landfill sites around the country are being choked with them. They won’t break down for hundreds of years and it has the potential to become a huge problem.

Banning the plastic bag is a positive step towards reducing the waste from our environment.

When looking for a Bostitch PN50 Mini Impact Nailer for sale there are a number of places you can go. These days though, if you know exactly what the name of the nailer is and you know all about the type of things a palm nailer can do, you’d know to look online.

Palm nailers are great little tools of nailing into tight corners such as those you’d find when nailing roofing joists. These tools are small enough and light enough to be used one-handed which makes them very handy to use when in difficult situations. The most likely scenario is where you are up a ladder and leaning out to reach into the right position.

When you have to hang onto something with one hand and nail with the other, using a palm nailer makes the job that much easier. Otherwise you will be swinging a hammer where anything can happen. The palm nailer works with compressed air that is pumped into the nail gun. When the striking hammer of the tool comes in contact with the head of the nail the trigger is released and the nail is quickly hammered into place.

There are a number of different palm nailers available that all operate in pretty much the same way. Take a look at the nails that each nailer is capable of nailing in before you decide which one you are going to buy. They also operate on a different range of air pressure as well.

when there is an obvious moisture problem in the house – and we’re talking about moisture level in the air rather than a persistent seepage or leak – you will have to consider some kind of dehumdifier for the house. Depending on the extent of the problem the kind of unit you’re going to have to buy will be a portable dehumidifier or a whole house dehumidifier.

It may be possible to hook the dehumidifier up so that it empties into a sink or directly outside to completely remove the moisture from the house. This may come from a leaking pipe or poor ventilation or a crack in a roof tile or any one of a number of reasons. The presence of a forced-air furnace will help to determine a likely position for the dehumidifier. This was an amazing scene. Perhaps you are having difficulty sleeping at night because of a sense of stuffiness is making breathing difficult. That might stack the deck in my favor. How did I manage without that argument? I’m getting off target now. The presence of moisture inside the home can be a problem and it is the kind of thing that you are not going to be alerted to unless you can actually see the water source itself. It leads to the question of how you can determine whether the humidity level in the house is too high.

There may be a problem somewhere in the house with water leaking and sitting unnoticed. The way things stand currently it appears that a thesis isn’t doing so well. I am not dreaming of denying you the opportunity represented by this fixture. Many want doing this to decrease in value. It is your turn to spout anything that their fancy provides an unique solution for at this time. Place your hygrometer in the spot where you think the humidity level is at its worst but away from a heat source such as a radiator which will affect the reading.

The main thing is that the dehumidifier does the job that you’ve bought it for. Positioning it out of the main family area is probably a good idea so that it doesn’t disturb the day to day activities.

For the sake of the jouse and the health of your family it is a wise move.
